Vaccination, financial protection vs. COVID-19

The best thing available to defeating the COVID-19 pandemic is getting inoculated. And the next best thing to embracing all the accepted precautionary health safety measures is getting insurance protection.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, apart from preventing the spread of COVID-19, getting vaccinated offers protection such as natural immunity from the virus. It also lessens the chances of re-infection as the vaccine helps create antibody response.
In the Philippines, the government is aiming to vaccinate 70 million Filipinos by the end of the year to achieve herd immunity.
The private sector, including major conglomerates, has purchased COVID-19 vaccines for millions of employees to complement the government’s own inoculation program.
As an added protection for risks brought about by the pandemic, Filipinos are also encouraged to have insurance protection.
“It is important that Filipinos have the best possible protection from all sorts of risks especially during this time of uncertainty,” said Malayan Insurance Co. Inc. vice chairperson Yvonne S. Yuchengco.
is an accident and hospitalization insurance product that provides loss of life cash assistance and a daily hospital income benefit for a maximum hospital confinement of up to 14 days when the policyholder is stricken with COVID-19, dengue or Chikungunya.
