MANILA, Philippines — Malayan Insurance Company
(MICO) and various stakeholders signed an accord called Zero Extreme Poverty
2030 Goal (ZEP 2030), a program that seeks to uplift at least one million
Filipino families from extreme poverty by the year 2030.
At the signing ceremony held at De La Salle University, Ms. Yvonne S. Yuchengco, MICO Vice Chairperson, said the Memorandum of Understanding allows Malayan Insurance to offer microinsurance cover to member organizations and anti-poverty cluster programs of the ZEP.
“That is in consonance with the mission of inclusivity and thus providing non-life insurance protection, just one of the means to achieve this mission of inclusivity,” Yuchengco said.
A member of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, MICO shares the Group's passion for serving the marginalized through their contributions to the industry and the local economy. Malayan Insurance will aid in sustaining the Zero Extreme Poverty Goal by administering Microinsurance Covers for indigent recipients from marginalized sectors, as well as qualified individuals and organizations.
